Posted by ABC Fine Wine & Spirits on March 1, 2018

In Wine, Proseccco

The 2017 award season is taking its final curtain call this Sunday. The 90th Academy Awards are set to begin 8pm.

If you sadly cannot be at the show, celebrate just like an A-lister in the comfort of your living room with some of the same wine the celebrities will be drinking, all thanks to ABC’s extensive wine offerings. We suggest a few wines below, paired with some of the top award categories. Which will you be sipping when the winner is announced?

For Best Director, sip Francis Coppola Director’s Cut Cabernet Sauvignon

Director Francis Coppola has won his own couple of Oscars already, but his latest win is his wine. Coppola wines are the official wine for the Academy Awards and Governor’s Ball. This Director’s Cut is very similar to what the stars will be drinking all night. This rich red wine is great to kick off the award viewing party. It pairs well with appetizers and watching celebs arrive on the red carpet.

For Best Actor and Actress, sip Block 926 Cabernet Sauvignon and Domaine Gueguen Chablis

A-listers will be drinking red and white wines all throughout the night. So why not drink just like them? Domaine Gueguen Chablis is light and refreshing and pairs well with salads. It is great for the opening monologue while playing Oscars Bingo. For the main course, open a bottle of Block 926. This full-bodied wine is filled of berry accents and pairs well with meat dishes. Use this time to put your final ballots in for Best Picture.

For Best Picture, open Collalto Prosecco Extra Dry

Finish the night with a toast to Best Picture. If you want to impress your friends, try sabering the bottle to end the night with a bang! Learn how to saber with the easy steps listed in this blog post!
