In Cocktail Recipes, Spirits, Bourbon

Strawberry complemented by basil, rhubarb bitters mixed with simple syrup—it sounds like a piece of homemade cobbler. But add quality bourbon, lemon juice and ginger beer, and you’re in for the flavors of a Kentucky Summer.

  • 2 oz Maker's Mark Bourbon
  • 1 oz Simple Syrup
  • Club Soda
  • 1 oz Fresh Lemon Juice
  • 2 Dashes Rhubarb Bitters
  • 2 Strawberries
  • Ginger Beer
  • Basil Leaves

Add lemon juice and strawberries to a mixing glass and muddle together. Add simple syrup, rhubarb bitters, bourbon and basil leaves. Add ice and shake well. Strain into a tall glass filled with fresh ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with a sliced and fanned strawberry and basil sprig.
