It’s officially football season and we are going full-on Reggie White into the boozy-game-day-munchies endzone.
The anticipation of this football season has been knocking at our door like a bad habit for months now. Pre-season (and a healthy amount of Drunken Fruit Kabobs) eased our eagerness, but now we are buzzed with energy and in full-on football fanatic mode. Padded up and ready to rumble – boozy style.
We have the 3 dip pairings that every tailgate party hostess should have in their playbook on game day. These totally irresistible sideline snacks will have your guests playing offense just to get a second serving.
1… 2… 3… Break! Throw your jerseys on, stir up these winning cocktails and get to mixing.
Beer cheese + soft pretzels
“Big Game” commercials have nothing on this legendary combo. How could you go wrong with beer, cheese and soft pretzels?
- 8 ounces of cream cheese, cubed
- 4 cups sharp cheddar cheese
- 12 ounces Cigar City Maduro Brown Ale
Heat a small saucepan over medium heat. Pour in beer and bring to boil. Once it begins to foam add in cream cheese and whisk until fully melted. Then, slowly begin adding in cheddar cheese, ½ cup at a time. Stir until it is at desired consistency, serve with soft pretzels and enjoy.
Tequila guacamole + tortilla chips
A tequila a day keeps the defense away. Because who doesn’t mind an extra kick to some holy guacamole?
- 3 ripe avocados
- ¼ cup cilantro
- ½ jalapeño
- 4 tablespoons red onion
- 1 tomato
- 1 lime, juiced
- Dash of salt
- 2 ounces Espanita Blanco Tequila
Mash ripe avocadoes into a bowl. Dice cilantro, jalapeño (remove seeds to taste), red onion, and tomato. Gently mix into mashed avocado. Finish by stirring in salt, lime juice and tequila. [Quick tip: if you’re in a crunch, grab the pre-made guacamole and mix in tequila.] Pair with your favorite tortilla chips and get to dipping.
Bourbon bacon dip + veggies
The adult version of “eating your veggies.” How else are you going to get the nutrients to spring out of your recliner for game-winning interceptions?
- 1 cup sour cheese
- ½ pack of French onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
- 4 strips bacon, chopped
- 3 ounces Coopers Mark Bourbon
Mix all ingredients together. Cover with plastic and refrigerate for 2 hours. Use any leftover chopped bacon and chives to garnish. Serve, pair with fresh veggies and enjoy.
