Scratching your head about what wines to pop open during October celebrations? Well, let’s establish the fact that there are 30 other days in the month that are not Halloween, so don’t feel like all your October vino sipping has to be spooky themed (but if that’s what you’re into, check these wines out!).
We understand that searching for the exact wine you want to serve can be a lot. What varietal? What is a varietal? What do I pair with steak and what do I serve with a tapas? Our wine taps are the answer to all the above.
Tucked away at your nearest ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, is a hidden goldmine of chilled and ready-to-pour vino.
All you need to do is a choose a wine on tap that sounds good and with the help of one of our experts, pour a sample into your glass. It’s our way of helping you make better drinking decisions and get you closer to finding a new favorite. You’ll never have to wonder if that bottle is worth it because you’ll already know.
Each month we rotate new bottles. October features four newer wines to our ever-expanding portfolio.
One of the best features of these wines is that they’re part of our Sourced & Certified collection. This special line of wines (and spirits) are purchased directly from the maker or distiller at a lower price to save you money. Every bottle in this collection is sourced and certified by an ABC team of wine and spirits experts that have been traveling the world for decades to find unique, quality products in a range of prices for our guests. Our team can go directly to the source for these products because of the strong relationships we've built with wine makers and distillers for more than 80 years. We’re currently pairing these bottles with pumpkin carving, football Sundays and fall dinner parties. Pick one or four, but make sure you don’t miss what’s on tap this month!
Dreaming of the warm Italian sun as the days only seem to get hotter here in FL? Make those dreams real with a bottle of Nicolis Valpolicella Classico, an enticing red blend with a silky palate. This gorgeous red shows dark fruit flavors with hints of strawberry and star anise. Complex and round, Nicolis Amarone Valpolicella is structured and elegant. Pair it with red pasta sauce and game meats.
Chronic Cellars explains their m.o. best: “Using only the best – or ‘chronic’ – grapes from each year’s yield, the Beckett brothers deliver truly intriguing blends. Their chill vibe and adventurous flavor profiles create a totally chronic experience.” Aromas of smoke and cherry are followed by flavors of red fruits, mocha and leather. The mild tannins and balanced acidity make a great pairing with rich foods like pork belly, hard cheeses or pub-style foods.
Prospector was a wine that dug its way into our hearts at first sip. These wines reflect New World style with a boldness and balance that reveals its one-of-a-kind expression. Try the Cabernet for subtle hints of vanilla and mocha that deliver a plush mouthfeel and a balanced, smooth finish. Enjoy this wine with filet, ribeye or N.Y. Strip.
One of our newer bottles, Copper Top is a Chilean wine of wonderful proportions. It’s all at once elegant and interesting with aromas of blueberry pie and vanilla yogurt. The palate is silky and dry-yet-fruity with a medium body. It’s a dense, chewy red for the table and deserves a hearty piece of steak, lamb or pork.
