In Wine, Zinfandel, Red Wines

This is the second installment of a five part series on The Prisoner Wine Company.

SaldoThe Prisoner Wine Company team is led by Chrissy Whitmann, a master at sourcing from multiple vineyards to create unctuous Californian wines. Each wine in The Prisoner Wine Company line is impeccably made and undeniably high quality. But what's interesting about these wines and the way Chrissy describes them is that they're still very approachable. You don't have to be a Sommelier to understand how good this wine is.

Yesterday we explored the first wine in the The Prisoner Wine Company's line up, The Prisoner. Today, we dive into a deeply colored and complex red wine: Saldo.

SaldoSaldo, Latin for “from here and there” is a Zinfandel made from vineyards across Northern California. These dry-farmed plots produce grapes reflective of the region’s distinct terroir. From the cool climates of Sonoma and Mendocino to the warmer regions further inland, Saldo is a beautiful blend of the best Zinfandel grapes in the state. Dark fruit and spice lead to a bold, round palate of chocolate, cherry and vanilla extract. This red has smooth tannins and an elongated finish, perfect for pairing with beef, roasted lamb or duck. Find this juicy Zin in stores or online for just $26.99.

All five wines can be found at select ABC Fine Wine & Spirits retailers throughout Florida, as well as online at abcfws.com.
