In Cocktail Recipes, Spirits, Whiskey

Celebrate Father's Day with a cocktail that is anything but "old fashioned." With citrus, sugar and a dash of bitters for contrast, this classic whiskey cocktail is so good, the glass is named after it. It’s a strong cocktail with all the right ingredients to make its recipe stick around for generations--kind of like your old man.

  • 2 oz Jim Beam Bourbon
  • 2 drops Angostura Bitters
  • 20 Mint Leaves
  • 1 Sugar Cube
  • Water
  • 1 Orange Slice
  • 1 Stemless Cherry

Soak 1 sugar cube with Angostura bitters in glass. Add water and muddle ingredients, dissolving the sugar. Add a slice of orange and 1 cherry (without the stem) and gently muddle the orange skin. Fill the glass with ice and add 2 oz of Jim Beam Bourbon. Stir ingredients with mixing spoon.
