Save room for turkey with these lighter cocktails

In Spirits, Cocktail Recipe, Thanksgiving, Turkey

At long last we can say it: whip out the stretchy pants. The holidays are upon us and with the amount of food to be consumed, we’re all going to need a little space to breathe.

Thanksgiving is the time to indulge and be thankful. So, this year we are giving thanks for the  friends, family and cocktails that  save us a little extra room for our second (or third) guilt-free helping.

Piling our plates with turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, , stuffing, buttered rolls pie and a delicious slice of moonshine cake may be seemingly impossible to have room for even a sip of water, let alone a cocktail. But, after a week of prep and ample time with your in-laws, a cocktail is exactly what you deserve to wash down that feast.

That is why we have created these three, easy-to-prep cocktails for you and your guests. Skip all the fuss and use the same measurements for each cocktail, just switch out the ingredients. Each call for 1 ½ ounces of liquor with 3-4 ounces of mixer, depending on your taste.

There’s enough to stress over the holiday season, but cocktails should never be one of them. Entertain your family with these light and refreshing libations this Turkey Day.

Ford's Gin + Q Tonic

We love imbibing with something fresh and bubbly, especially with a heavy meal. Combing the sharp flavor and high carbonation of this premium mixer supports the botanical flavor of the gin, rather than overpowering it. Making it refreshingly light on the palate and totally sippable.  Just top it off with a sprig of rosemary and you have a beautiful cocktail.

Ketel One Botanical Peach & Orange Blossom + Q soda water

If you haven’t dabbled in the realm of Ketel One Botanicals, it’s time. This guilt-free spirit is produced with no added artificial flavors, sugar, GMO’s or carbs. How could you not fall in love with that? Serve this beauty in a wine glass and garnish it with an orange slice for a sleek look. Impress your guests one step further by pairing it with a citrus turkey beer brine, it enhances the flavors and is beyond amazing.

Fireball + Vanilla Cream Soda Original New York Seltzer

Some love Fireball, others don’t. But even if you’re not a fan, we think this combo is worth a try. It’s all the taste of a cinnamon roll, without the gooey indulgence and perfectly festive for the occasion. We garnished this seasonal cocktail with a cinnamon stick and paired it with pumpkin pie for a sweet treat.
